With the launch of the testnet fast-approaching, the team has launched a Discord server to promote tech-centric Dusk Network protocol discussions. The article outlines the functionality of the Dusk Network Discord server while simultaneously providing a sneak peek into the upcoming milestones.

Why is a Discord server important?

Telegram is a magnificent communication medium (no pun intended!), however, it suffers from a relative lack of flexibility and inability to fork the channel into numerous topical subchannels, which is critical for a more confined, tech-centric medium of communication. This is where Discord comes in! A Discord server enables the team to embrace an inclusive developer community that Dusk Network’s future will be built around.

Dusk Network server overview

Dusk Network server channels

In the beginning, our Discord server will feature two public categories: “Discussion” and “Research & Development”. Both of the categories consist of multiple channels, designed to funnel the conversations into topical channels where the users and the team members can concentrate on the specific issues without distractions. The future updates to the server will include channels such as “trading”, “ama”, “bug-bounty”, etc. The addition of features to the Dusk Network Discord server will be communicated through the “announcement” channel on Discord.

Dusk Network member list

The members of our server can differentiate between the team members and the general users through two approaches: the member list and the roles highlighted when the user clicks on the profile of another user. The current iteration of the server includes 3 different roles: “dusk_private” - Dusk Foundation team member, “dusk_admin” - Dusk Network Discord server administrator and “dusk_dev” - Dusk Network core developer. The future versions will introduce “dawn_private”, “community_admin”, etc.
