Dusk Network is releasing its public testnet - Daybreak - February 1st, 2022. In this post, we’re answering the community’s most frequent questions.
We are humbled by the community's enthusiasm: the number of Provisioner sign-ups today has already significantly exceeded our expectations!
We’ve also seen lots of questions about testnet progress on our official community Discord and other social media channels, and our aim with this article is to address them. We are listening to your feedback, and would like to share more of what is happening behind the scenes. This is why we plan to increase the frequency of our communication about Daybreak going forward.
What are you focused on now?
Daybreak will include blockchain protocol infrastructure and user-facing components like the Web Wallet, and Block Explorer. We are currently still resolving issues that challenge the stability of the network, as well as the back-end functionality of the Web Wallet.
With another week ahead of us, we are working around the clock to fix bugs, and make improvements to the network. Truth is, with Dusk Network’s cutting-edge technology new challenges arise all the time. We always strive to launch technology of the highest quality, and now that we’re asking you to spend your time testing it, this commitment is stronger than ever.
What happens post-launch?
After February 1st, we’ll be pushing releases on a bi-weekly basis (every two weeks). This means bug fixes, but also new features. We strive to release these features as soon as possible, but we’re committed to stability first and foremost. With testnet up and running we will also start to grow the network and onboard Provisioners.
Will everyone on the waitlist get a chance to run a node?
Yes, the waitlist was implemented to create a smart way of onboarding people to the network. We will start with onboarding experts first. As they make their way through the onboarding process, the procedure will be improved with their feedback to benefit less experienced subsequent participants. As the test network runs steadily for a longer period of time, we will be able to admit more and more registrants.
