Dusk Network’s complete ZKProofs series, collected

“Any sufficiently advanced technology is equivalent to magic”, sir Arthur C. Clarke, science writer, undersea explorer, and co-writer for the 1968 film 2001: A Space Odyssey.

Major leaps in technology are appreciated in hindsight more so than during conception. New mechanics that become mainstay integrations in vital technological and societal systems always start as something novel, with the potential for widespread adoption.

We believe in the importance of Zero-Knowledge Proof technology, now and as the industry moves forward. Its functionality and features make it a prime candidate to become a lynchpin in many (financial) systems of the future. Because of this admiration and our own integration of ZKProof capabilities, we teamed up with Hackernoon to publish a series of articles introducing and detailing the concept of Zero-Knowledge Proofs, with special attention to the PLONK zero-knowledge proof system.

Here’s what you can expect to find in these articles:

Link: On Zero-Knowledge Proofs And Why They Matter

Our first article focuses on explaining the basic features of, and need for, zero-knowledge proof technology. Using real-world examples, you’ll be able to grasp the concept and mechanics of ZKProof systems, and learn more about how zero-knowledge proofs fulfill vital conditions of completeness, soundness, and true zero-knowledge.

Meet PLONK, a true contender in zero-knowledge proof technology and the focus of our second article. Here we introduce you to a variety of zero-knowledge proof systems before making our case on why we chose PLONK. Our reasoning follows the three S’s: Safety, Speed, and Scalability. Read this article to find out how PLONK stands out among its peers.

PLONK and zero-knowledge proof systems in general are not a secret weapon. They are robust public tools that become more powerful with adoption. Advanced technology is often difficult to integrate into existing systems, and PLONK is no different. This is where our third and final article comes in: in it, we aim to make PLONK integration as user-friendly as possible by giving you access to the Dusk-PLONK GitHub library, and detailing how you can give your business a much-needed privacy injection.

The Strength of Shared (Zero-)Knowledge

The purpose of these articles isn’t simply to inform you about the concept of zero-knowledge proofs or Dusk’s usage of it; it’s to spread the word on the great potential of this technology and to encourage others to take advantage of its many benefits. We’re creating in-depth documentation to make this privacy-focused tech as accessible as possible, and its integration as painless as possible. We all share the same goal, and Dusk Network is keen to share what we’ve learned with the industry.
