Dusk Network Completed Phase I of ITN
December 31, 2022 marked the end of the first phase of the Dusk Network Incentivized Testnet.
With over 600 provisioners and almost 2000 signups, it has been a great success so far.
The completion of the first phase of our rolling ITN marks a big
milestone for Dusk Network. Even though we far exceeded the goal of
onboarding 100 nodes, the network showed no unexpected signs of slowing
down. Both the network halt caused by ghost provisioners and the issue
of block delay due to the accessList were quickly fixed by our
development team. To prevent these issues from reoccurring in the
future, the development team is implementing mechanisms like slashing.
The team is also considering adding innovative new features like a
pre-stake maturity consensus round.
What have we learned so far?
The main reason we launched our ITN is to learn more and further improve
the Dusk network. The participation from the Dusk Network community in
this first phase is greatly appreciated and resulted in tons of feedback
on the current state of the network. Our development team is working on
improving the UI/UX to streamline node management and has already
implemented numerous new UI/UX features, which will allow users to get
more insight into their nodes and ease operating it.
Reward distribution
As stated before, December 31 2022 marked the end of the reward phase,
our development team is currently creating a list of all eligible
participants and will start distributing the rewards to the ERC20
addresses provided during the onboarding process. This process is
expected to be completed before January 31, 2023.__
What’s next?
We are currently analyzing the results of Phase I and will shortly start
with the implementation of improvements to our network. Phase II wil
mark another big milestone towards mainnet for Dusk, introducing a
number of big changes to our tech stack. This next phase will be open
and will not require permission to participate. We are also working on a
mechanism to reward $DUSK holders by using their ERC20 holdings to
participate in the upcoming ITN phase testnet. More information on this
will be disclosed as we come closer to the start of Phase II.
