Mainnet Milestone: Rusk Consensus and Node Audit
Auditing the code for the Consensus and Node Modules
We are pleased to share the release of Oak Security’s Code Audit of the Rusk Consensus and Rusk Node Library. We are pleased to share the detailed report of two vitally important and incredibly complex pieces of infrastructure.
The two reports dig deep into the code, looking for bugs, and vulnerabilities, and ensuring the system functions as intended.
The Process
We contracted Oak Security due to their knowledge and experience in blockchain technology, not only in reviewing code, but taking a broad and holistic view of a protocol. They have audited other parts of the Dusk tech stack, with a previously shared audit on the concept of the Consensus and Economic Protocol already being shared.
Oak Security employs a very thorough approach, with 3 separate and specialized auditors working on a project and then coming together to share their findings. This means that multiple people manually reviewed the code before they came together to share their findings.
After their findings were shared our team worked to integrate their feedback before resubmitting for further reviews.
The Report
There are two final reports, both found the readability and clarity of the code to be high, with all issues either resolved or acknowledged.
We are thankful to Oak Security for their thorough audit, and we are pleased to share the results with the community.
You can read the full reports here: Rusk Consensus | Rusk Node Library.
You can find the Audit repository on Github. We will add reports here as they become available.
Thank you to Oak Security for their detailed and thorough work, and such a full and complete report.
